Sunday Assembly - Beyond Belief

What Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, and Other Nones are Teaching Us about Religion Today.

Are nones are "reinventing religion" as a natural rather than (necessarily) supernatural phenomenon? Join author and SCU Professor Elizabeth Drescher to talk about setting aside arguments and doctrinal beliefs as measures of religion. Learn about more meaningful indicators of what religion is and does.

Drescher wrote about Sunday Assembly Silicon Valley in her book Choosing Our Religion: The Spiritual Lives of America’s Nones. ( https://elizabethdrescher.com/) She is a scholar, writer, and public speaker on religion in everyday life, and a professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Santa Clara University. She is also the author of numerous books and articles on religion and spirituality in contemporary life.

Doors open at 10:45am, and at 11:00am on the dot we will have great talks, live music and secular celebration.

We serve tea and coffee plus tasty baked treats right after assembly. If you want to linger longer, feel free to bring an item to share for a yummy potluck, and stick around a bit for food and friendship.

Sunday Assembly is free of charge, and donations are gratefully accepted.

Everyone is welcome. Free childcare provided.

Free parking is available in our onsite parking lot, and street parking is also free on Sundays.
