What is Sunday Assembly?
Sunday Assembly is a secular congregation that celebrates life. There are currently over 40 Sunday Assembly chapters worldwide.
Our motto: Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More. Our vision: To help everyone live life as fully as possible.
We are here for everyone who wants to:
Live Better. We aim to provide inspiring, thought-provoking and practical ideas that help people to live the lives they want to lead and be the people they want to be
Help Often. Assemblies are communities of action – we are all about building lives of purpose, supporting one another, and encouraging us all to help those who need it
Wonder More. Hearing insightful talks, singing as one, listening to readings, sharing personal stories and even playing games all help us to connect with each other and the awesome world we live in.
What should you expect from a Sunday Assembly event?
Our Sunday morning assemblies are held once a month, on the second Sunday. You can expect to hear inspiring talks, join in singing a few popular songs, listen to some life experiences from fellow members, enjoy a few moments of reflection, and meet lots of interesting people over coffee and snacks. We also provide supervised activities for the kids. No matter what the subject of the Assembly, it will calm your worries, refresh your spirits, provoke kindness and maybe even inject a touch of transcendence into the everyday.
Sunday Assembly is more than just a Sunday event. It is a living, active community. There are lots of opportunities to get together throughout the month. We have many volunteer opportunities, to do everything from picking fruit for the hungry, to planting trees, to serving food to the homeless ... or whatever community service event you can persuade your fellow members to join in on. We also have purely social events, including small groups (SMOUPs) for beer tasting, dining out, reading books, playing trivia, or "reading between the wines".
Most of all, people come to Sunday Assembly to have fun, be kind to each other and join in. We want Sunday Assembly to be a house of love and compassion, where, no matter what your situation, you are welcomed, accepted and loved.
